Getting there:
Private driver : If you’re planning to hire a driver for a day trip from Hua Hin, I recommend booking in advance through the national park website. The cost for a day with a driver is approximately 2300 baht. It’s important to secure your booking ahead of time to ensure availability, as last-minute bookings may not guarantee a driver. This arrangement provides convenience and flexibility for exploring the surrounding areas and attractions from Hua Hin.
1.Phraya Nakhon Cave
The hike to the cave is an exciting adventure with two sections. The first section involves climbing a stony staircase along a seaside cliff, offering scenic views of the waves. Afterward, there is a level ground with palm trees and a small beach. There is a restaurant on this beach where you can stop for some much needed refuelling. The second section is a steep uphill hike with tree roots and stones, leading to the cave entrance. If you prefer to avoid the first part of the hike, there is an option to take a boat around the first cliff from the parking lot. This way, you only have to hike the second section. However, it’s worth noting that when we visited, the strong waves prevented the availability of boats, so we ended up completing the full hike on foot.
To witness the magical sight of the temple inside the cave, it is recommended to arrive around 10 am. During this time, the sunrays illuminate the temple, creating a mesmerising and enchanting atmosphere. Check out this reel of our hike !
2.Sai caves
Exploring inside this cave is considerably more challenging than the Phraya Nakhon Caves, with complete darkness and a bat-filled environment. Proper gear and a flashlight are essential for this adventure. You can bring your own flashlight or rent one at the cave entrance. The hike inside the cave involves extensive climbing and demands a high level of physical fitness. It is recommended for individuals with a high fitness level due to the challenging nature of the journey.
3.Bueng Bua Boardwalk ( Lotus lake)
This lake is a stunning display of lotus flowers surrounded by towering cliffs. There is a boardwalk that allows visitors to walk and immerse themselves in the beauty of the flowers. For 500 baht, you can take a boat ride in a small two-seater boat, which is a fantastic experience. As you glide along the tranquil waters on a boat ride, the delicate petals of the lotuses gently sway in the breeze, casting a magical spell over the surroundings. It’s one of the most picturesque and serene places I have ever visited. It’s worth making the journey from Bangkok just to witness the beauty of this lake. During the boat ride, you’ll have the opportunity to see exquisite exotic birds. If there’s one thing you must do in Hua Hin, it’s taking this boat ride. Check out this reel .
4.Khao Daeng Canal
Embark on a serene boat ride through the enchanting mangrove forest, gliding along the canal that winds through a picturesque fishing village. As you journey, admire the houses nestled alongside the canal, offering a glimpse into the local way of life. The backdrop of towering cliffs adds to the scenic beauty, while the mangrove birds gracefully accompany you along the way. This delightful boat trip lasts for an hour, allowing you to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the surroundings.
5.See Wildlife
This national park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, as it is home to a staggering 337 species of birds, including storks, pelicans, grey herons, kingfishers. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars to fully appreciate the avian diversity and spot fascinating creatures like mongoose, playful macaques, and elusive rock geckos.
