Best Things to do in Hua Hin

Hua Hin

Hua Hin is a charming beach town known for its stunning white sand beaches and beach-side resorts. The town offers a delightful selection of seafood restaurants, vibrant night markets, and a peaceful atmosphere. Contrasting with the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, Hua Hin provides a quieter and less crowded beach experience. It serves as an ideal beach getaway for those who prefer not to travel all the way to Phuket for pristine beaches.

How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok:

Private driver: one way trip cost is around 2500 baht (in 2023) . Duration : 3 hours

Getting around Hua Hin:

Private driver: you can hire a driver to take you around the city. 8 hour would typically cost around 2500 baht.

Grab/Bolt/Maxime: is the cheapest options.

Taxi: another cheap option however be sure to bargain as they may try to hike up the price for tourists.

1.Hua Hin Beach

Hua Hin Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand lined with beachfront resorts, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing getaway. The beach offers a wide range of activities, including surfing, horseback riding, jet skiing, quad biking, banana boating, and kayaking. You can enjoy these activities while indulging in delicious food and drinks at the beachfront restaurants. Taking a leisurely evening walk along the long coastline is a delightful experience. Additionally, Hua Hin Beach is renowned for its stunning sunrise views. I highly recommend waking up early to witness the mesmerizing sunrise. Along the beach, there are several cafes, and my personal favourite was the ‘Top Seacret Beach Cafe,’ which offers a beautiful view overlooking the beach.

2.Tamarind Night Market/ Cicada Night Market

The night markets in Hua Hin are a sight to behold, offering a striking contrast to the crowded markets of Bangkok and Chiang Mai. These night markets are beautifully arranged with captivating lighting and decor. Visitors can enjoy live music and magic shows while exploring the market. The stalls offer a wide variety of cuisine and souvenirs. There is a spacious seating area available where you can savor your food. It’s worth noting that the prices of food and souvenirs in these night markets are higher compared to those in Bangkok due to the town’s popularity and influx of tourists. Despite the higher prices, a trip to these night markets in Hua Hin comes highly recommended.

3.Wat Khao Takiap

Make sure to visit the stunning temple perched on a cliff, offering a breathtaking view of Khao Takiab Beach. However, exercise caution as there are monkeys that frequent the area surrounding the temple. This temple is situated on Khao Takiab Beach, which serves as a more secluded counterpart to Hua Hin Beach. The temple’s location provides an opportunity to admire the scenic beauty of the beach while also experiencing the peacefulness of the surroundings

4.Day trip to Khao Sam Roi Yat Park

I would highly recommend spending approximately 2 to 3 days in Hua Hin. This timeframe allows for a well-rounded experience, providing enough time to explore the beautiful beaches, indulge in the local cuisine, visit the night markets, enjoy water activities, and immerse oneself in the relaxed and peaceful vibes of the town. Hua Hin offers a perfect balance of leisure, sightseeing, and beachside relaxation, making it an ideal destination for a short getaway.
